LMS Named a Responsible Care Partner
Press Release - 7/19/2005

ST. LOUIS – Logistics Management Solutions (LMS), a non-asset-based third-party logistics provider, has been named a Responsible Care® Partner by the American Chemistry Council (ACC). As a Partner company, LMS will immediately begin implementing Responsible Care, which is the ACC’s comprehensive environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) performance initiative.

BASF and Monsanto, long-time LMS clients and ACC members, sponsored LMS and will assist in the implementation process.

To become a Responsible Care Partner, LMS documented its current EHS&S processes and demonstrated a commitment to working toward the ACC’s vision of no accidents, injuries or harm to the environment. LMS will enhance its EHS&S efforts by implementing the program, which includes a Responsible Care management system. Once the program is implemented, LMS will undergo a third-party certification audit to ensure full implementation of the Responsible Care management system.

“Although LMS is a non-asset-based provider, we realize we play a vital role in ensuring freight is transported as safely as possible,” says Dennis Schoemehl, president and CEO of LMS. “LMS has always made safety a priority; becoming a Responsible Care Partner empowers us to build upon and continuously improve our existing practices. We look forward to working with the ACC, as well as our sponsors, to implement this comprehensive program.”

According to the ACC, LMS is now one of 210 ACC member companies and Responsible Care Partners working toward the vision of no accidents, injuries or harm to the environment.

About the Responsible Care Partnership Programs

The Responsible Care Partnership Program extends the Responsible Care ethic to other companies significantly engaged in the business of chemistry. The Partnership Program is open to companies that have direct and substantial involvement in the distribution, transportation, storage, use, treatment-disposal and/or sales and marketing of chemicals and whose senior management recognizes the importance of continuous improvement.
