LMS’ Schoemehl, McHugh Receive Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2004 Awards
Press Release - 6/23/2004

ST. LOUIS – Logistics Management Solutions (LMS) executives, Dennis Schoemehl and John McHugh, were among the entrepreneurs named as the Missouri-Kansas winners of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2004 Award during a recent ceremony in St. Louis. Schoemehl, president and chief executive officer, and McHugh, chief operations officer, are the founders of LMS, a non-asset-based third-party logistics provider based in St. Louis.

McHugh and Schoemehl received the award under the “Realizing Business Potential” category, which is sponsored by Microsoft and recognizes companies that have demonstrated success and growth by leveraging computer related technology in their business. An independent panel of judges comprised of local community and business leaders selected winners.

“Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award winners embrace the entrepreneurial spirit and determination necessary to achieve success,” said George Klenovich, leader of Ernst & Young’s St. Louis Emerging & Growth Markets practice. “Ernst & Young is proud of its history recognizing and supporting these outstanding leaders and their companies.”

As award recipients, McHugh and Schoemehl will be inducted into the Entrepreneur Hall of Fame and compete in the Entrepreneur Of The Year 2004 national program. Winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, Calif., in November.

Schoemehl and McHugh launched LMS in 1996. Since its inception, the company has experienced unprecedented growth and acquired an enviable client roster. Among its offerings, LMS boasts a proprietary, Web-native transportation management system, TOTAL, that couples advanced technology with proven logistics process to help companies, like BASF, Monsanto and The Scotts Company, reduce transportation costs and meet delivery deadlines.
