St. Louis Traffic Club President’s Letter---October 22, 2007
Happy Fall Greetings to Everyone!
The 100th Anniversary year for the Traffic Club has started with a great deal of enthusiasm and excitement! We’ve seen several new member applications and a lot of volunteer involvement with the Board committees for our events and activities. I would like to welcome all of those new to the Club this year. We greatly appreciate your involvement, enthusiasm and ideas!
The Fall Golf Outing was a terrific success and I want to thank Al Hursey and Jimmy Smith for leading all of the efforts in putting this event together. Special thanks also to everyone that volunteered to help, all of our sponsors and those that were so generous in donating awards and prizes. It was a beautiful day and I think everyone had a great time!
Mark your calendars for Friday, December 7, 2007 for the annual Ladies Day Holiday Luncheon. We’re returning to the Lemp Mansion (Grand Ballroom) this year and hopefully we won’t run into any power outage issues like we encountered last year! This event is always a lot of fun and a great way to entertain/reward employees and customers. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from the event are donated to a local charity. Last year’s recipient was the Kidney Foundation and they were most appreciative of everyone’s generosity.
Personally, I think the best thing about being involved with the Traffic Club is the personal contacts we make and the relationships built from these contacts. As business cycles go up and down, it is satisfying to know that we’re all plugged into a network where we can exchange feedback and ideas. I encourage everyone to get involved in all of our different events, activities and committees. Bring a friend too. Think about it, if we all encouraged one friend to join the club or brought a friend to each event we would practically double our size or our attendance!
Please contact me or any of our Board members if you have suggestions, comments or ideas. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!
